It has been six years since the late rapper, Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, popularly known as Dagrin, passed on from injuries he suffered after being involved in a ghastly motor accident.
Lots of celebrities close to the rapper have been sharing their sober messages to remember the late singer who was well loved by many, even all tribes.
For many who can’t remember him, the rapper was one of the best hardcore rap artistes Nigeria has ever produced. He blazed the trail with traditional hip-hop music, which many youth musicians today, such as Olamide and Phyno are benefiting from. The award-winning rapper from Ogun State weaved his style of music in Yoruba dialect, and brought out the best of it.
The tragic accident which claimed his life happened in the early hours on April 14, 2010 after his car collided with a parked trailer in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos. He was initially admitted at Tai Solarin Hospital, Mushin before he was transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, (LUTH) Idi Araba, where doctors declared him dead after serious efforts made to save his life failed.
