Giwa group waits on IG to implement court order
A member of the Chris Giwa group, Jide Fashikun, has said the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board is courting trouble by not respecting the April 8th ruling from the Federal High Court Jos. Fashikun who is the Chairman of Marketing and
Sponsorship of the Giwa faction said the group has served the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, the copy of the court order asking Pinnick to vacate the NFF Secretariat for Giwa to assume duty.
“We are only waiting for the IG to implement the court order in order for us to resume duty,” he said. He described the petition from Pinnick which directed the IG to arrest Giwa as a huge joke, adding that the former is just fighting a lost battle.
“There is no way we can parley with him after he has failed to take advantage of all the opportunities given to him to reconcile,” he said. Another source said that if care is not taken the Pinnick group would be charged with contempt from the day the judgement was given. Giwa re-listed 2014 case which stopped the election that ushered Pinnck in as President in Warri declaring it illegal.
But in a petition dated April 14 and signed by his lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Pinnick accused Giwa of acting on a non-existent court judgment to cause disaffection in the Glass House as there was no such order compelling him to vacate the NFF office as President. Pinnick said:
“In the last few days, one Chris Giwa has threatened to take over the headquarters of the Nigerian Football Federation, citing a non-existent court order in that respect.”
