The Nigerian army has appointed a new NYSC DG


- Shake up as army appoints new NYSC DG, commander for Operation Lafia Dole

Daily Sun reports that the Nigerian army has appointed brigadier-general SZ Kazaure as the director general of the national youth service corps (NYSC).


This followed a major shake-up within the force which led to the replacement of the theatre commander of Operation Lafia Dole.

With the new appointment, major-general H Umaru will head the training and operations unit of the army.

In a posting and appointment letter dated April 11, 2016, major- general LE Irabor, will remain as commander Operation Lafia Dole while brigadier-general Olawunmi, the former NYSC DG, will move to the Nigerian army school of electrical and mechanical engineering, as acting commandant.

Brigadier-generals JE Ejeh is commander, 81, division Garrisson; KO Oburo, PSO, logistics office of the chief of army staff; MO Jimoh, commander, headquarters 31, Brigade; M J Abel, commandant, general workshop; YP Auta, commander, 81, Brigade; HI Bature, DD, plans, Army Headquarters; and IA Quadri, PSO, combat arms, office of the COAS.

Also appointed are Brigadier-Generals S. P. Akpan, Chief of Staff, Command Army Records, T. J. Kareem, member training team among other appointments.

Meanwhile, Bmybor.blogspot.com has gathered through a post on the Facebook page of the Nigerian army, that its recruitment exercise is totally free, asking Nigerians not to be deceived by people who might ask them to pay a certain amount before accepting them.
