Enugu CP not sacked, but redeployed – Police
The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday dismissed reports that the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Nwodibo Ekechukwu, has been sacked.
In a brief telephone conversation with our correspondent on Tuesday, the Force Spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, said the CP was not sacked, but redeployed elsewhere.
“No, the CP was not sacked. He was only redeployed and we didn’t issue a statement on it because it is a normal procedure in the Force.
“He has been redeployed to Eastern Port Authority in Port Harcourt and it has nothing to do with herdsmen attack in the state,” Kolawole stated.
She added that Ekechukwu has been replaced by the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Emmanuel Ojukwu.
